Dr Ish Goonewardene

Dental Surgeon, Dermal Practitioner & Myobrace Clinician

Dr Ish graduated from Otago University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Since then she has gained experience working in many fields of dentistry. Dr Ish first worked as a dental house surgeon in a busy hospital in New Zealand, gaining experience in emergency and surgical treatment, as well as general dentistry. She then moved to private practice and took this experience overseas where she worked in Scotland and England.

 Since 2000 Dr Ish has worked in Sydney and runs her own practice here at totalcare dentistry. Dr Ish maintains the highest standards with the latest treatment from ongoing education and regular courses. Her practice has modern innovations in dental treatment and care, providing a level of care that is second to none for her clientele.

 She enjoys creating beautiful smiles using a number of individual techniques including Invisalign and Ceramic Restorative dentistry.

 In 2019 she received a Fellowship from the IADFE (international academy for Dentofacial aesthetics), New York, for her education in Dentofacial Aesthetics. Her critical eye for detail and her advanced knowledge in harmonising and creating natural balance to the face extends to skin health working alongside her Dermal Therapist.

 Being a mum of two busy energetic young girls, her compassionate and caring nature extends to helping and educating children to have the best possible start in their dental lives. Having a keen interest in Myofunctional therapy she is passionate about identifying early growth issues and providing options for guided growth for optimal future dental health and wellbeing.

Warrick Edwards

Dental Practitioner, Dermal Practitioner & Myobrace Clinician

Warrick has been in the dental industry for sixteen years, with experience in both private practice and larger public health entities. Warrick has experience teaching both accredited and non-accredited dental courses for the NSW government and private training institutes.

Warrick is also a partner at totalcare, and as an expert in his field of management and policy implementation, he has gained accreditation for many dental practices, including totalcare dentistry, in the Sydney metropolitan and regional areas of NSW. His passion for the industry lies in treating his dental patients, training, development and education.

Warrick also holds a post-graduate qualification in Dermal Therapies and works with Dr Ish to create complete Dento-Facial Experience to patients at totalcare dentistry and dermal.

Warrick is currently sitting on the Dental Hygienist Association of Australia board and is the NSW state director. Warrick recently received an Honorary Clinical Fellow role with the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and looks forward to many more years of continuing his dental education

Philippa Courtney

Philippa arrived in Sydney from Manchester, the UK in 2017 and has been with Totalcare ever since. She has a bubbly personality and has worked closely with the general public for over 9 years. Philippa loves to chat with the patients and get to know them all at their visits. In her free time Philippa enjoys going to the gym, sunrise coastal walks and dinners out with her friends. She also has a big interest in skincare and hopes to further her knowledge in the near future.

Marjan Biklarian

Marjan joined totalcare in July 2020, arriving from Iran in 2017, since her arrival in Australia Marjan has fallen in love with the way of life here and now calls Sydney home.

Marjan has an architecture background completed her degree over 10 years ago. Marjan found a love and interest in dental nursing and has over 8 years of dental nursing experience.

Her passion lies with making patients feel happy, comfortable and enjoys educating patients on good oral practices.

Amanda

Amanda brings a wealth of experience to the team, having spent many years in the dental industry. She began her journey as a dental assistant in Sydney before expanding her horizons to work in London. Hailing from New Zealand, Amanda’s passion for dentistry led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health at Auckland University, where she successfully graduated in 2012.

Her diverse background equips her to deliver comprehensive care, encompassing hygienist services, dental care for children and adolescents, and Invisalign clinical support. Amanda is dedicated to providing the utmost care to each patient, drawing from her extensive experience and unwavering compassion. Her care philosophy revolves around empowering and educating her patients, fostering enduring, trust-based relationships. Amanda is committed to ongoing professional development, with a particular focus on her interests in oral and systemic health. She eagerly anticipates meeting her new patients and collaborating with them.

Outside of her professional commitments, Amanda leads a fulfilling life. When she’s not hard at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her young daughter. Additionally, she indulges in her passion for reformer pilates, which helps maintain her physical and mental well-being. Amanda also has a penchant for culinary adventures, constantly seeking out new dining experiences to savor and enjoy.

Sherin

I enjoy working with the best doctors and tremendous staff knowing as a team we will help our patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile they can be proud of. I also take pride in helping our patients with any questions they may have regarding their treatment plan, insurance or financial needs. Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with friends, playing the guitar and ukulele. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you with all aspects of your dental visit.

Mia

Hi I’m Mia, I’m 25 years old from Yorkshire in England. I’ve been a dental assistant for almost 7 years and have found a true passion for dental and Aesthetics. I love working at Total Care dental and dermal as it’s much more than just teeth.. we’re more like family and we have so much fun in work. When I’m not smiling in work, you’ll catch me smiling on the dancefloor.

Elisha

Born and raised on Sydney’s Northern beaches, Elisha graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney. Soon after graduating, Elisha decided to make the move to regional Tamworth, NSW. Here she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating highly complex dental cases and medically compromised patients. In addition to this, she was also an oral health advocate, promoting healthy lifestyles and oral hygiene habits to the local primary schools.

Throughout the course of her studies, Elisha took a particular interest in orthodontics, preventative and restorative (fillings) dentistry. Furthermore, Elisha was awarded the highly regarded Dental Hygiene Association of Australia Prize (NSW branch). This prize recognises her incredibly high achievements in Dental Hygiene in NSW.

With her dual qualification in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, Elisha also works in a specialist orthodontic practice where she treats all ages.

Her gentle approach and exceptionally high standards to clinical work ensures every patient is treated like family.

Outside of her work, Elisha enjoys Pilates, good food and spending time with friends and family
