At totalcare, we are striving to be more sustainable and achieve “ green dentistry”. While we are focusing on providing high-quality dental services, we want to do so responsibly with a commitment to protecting our environment and decreasing our carbon footprint.
Achieving levels of “ green dentistry” is done in a number of ways meeting the needs of wellness lifestyle patients as Dental Health is an integral part of overall well being.
Digital X-rays
This technology cuts down the exposure of radiation up to 90% compared with traditional X-rays. The use of harmful chemical for developing traditional X-rays is eliminated with the use of digital computer technology for developing digital X-rays. The elimination of the use of plastic of traditional X-rays and their disposal is also removed.
HI-TECH EQUIPMENT
Using equipment such as Intraoral Cameras, OPGS machines, Intraoral Scanners and Digital Photography allows us to reduce the use of dental materials, paper, plastic as well as the power and waste associated with them.
MERCURY (AMALGAM) FREE DENTISTRY
Here at totalcare, we are an amalgam-free practice, which removes the risks that mercury can pose to your health. Avoiding the risk of this material means we are not needing to dispose of this into the environment. We use tooth coloured restorations which are more health compatible and also look better aesthetically.
REDUCTION IN PAPER USE
Advanced computerised patient software and systems including recall and communication allow us to keep records securely and safely without the use of paper files.
GOING BIODEGRADABLE
Removing the use of single-use plastics as much as possible including inside the surgery with the elimination of rinse cups, to outside with biodegradable, sustainable water cartons and filtration stations.
